Mr Lansana

Mr Lansana, a university graduate and school teacher in Kenema, had a terrible car accident that left him paralysed from waist down a few years ago. As a result of his disability Mr Lansana lost his job, and was not able to support himself and his family. He had no access to a wheelchair.

Mr Lansana is one of the recipients of the power wheelchairs we sent to Sierra Leone. The motorised wheelchairs are specifically aimed at supporting disabled professional individuals with mobility, thereby enabling them to return to work. Mr Lansana is seen here with his daughter, and our regional project coordinator, in receipt of one of the wheelchairs at the Methodist Secondary School, Kenema.
